Prostate Cancer Treatment after Green Light Surgery

A male friend had Green Light Surgery to treat BPH symptoms about 5 years ago.  Now, he has been diagnosed with prostate cancer (Gleason Scale = 6).

Given this history, is there a preference medically or side-effects wise to choose prostectomy versus radiation?

Hi there!

Despite the previous history and the Gleason score, the preference of one modality of treatment over another would also depend on the stage of the cancer. This is best discussed with his treating urologist/ oncologist.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
