please help. a friends father is experiencing the following symptoms:
HYPERGLYCEMIC, VOMITING, HEAD ACHE, STOMACH ACHE, HYPERTENSION. what could be the problem? and whats the best doctor to visit. Patient is 65yrs old, non-smoker, non alcoholic
the patient had various lab tests like ct scan and x-rays..but doctors cant find anything wrong..now he was advice to get an MRI. He has gone to various doctors like internist, neurologist, cardiologist but still they can't find anything wrong.
Everyday he is getting weaker and weaker. his usual routine was walking every morning. but for almost a month now his routine change.
his unexplained illness started only with a complain of headache. and now he lost weight, he has appetite but not the usual appetite, and usually he vomits one or twice a day. he couldn't resume his usual routine for he feels weak.
please help Doc. all his doctors i mentioned above are puzzled with his case...since we can't produce the amount needed for the MRI yet..we opted to find advice here.. hoping to get a light in this case.
Well, if the hypertension/ hyperglycemia are exceedingly high i.e. >250 mg/dl or 160/96 mm Hg respectively, he may need a visit to the ER. Vomiting, headache and stomachache could be related to both high blood pressure and high blood sugar and when present with high levels could make it an emergency. These could also be caused due to unrelated causes with relatively lower values of BP and blood sugar and may just require an elective visit to a primary care physician or an internist.
Hope this helps.
