May I ask how old was your dad when he had radiation and what were the side effects ( I am particularly concerned with incontinence and impotence) and did he have to take any kind of medication afterwards like forever ?  I am  54 and have been diagnosed with prostate cancer in March and am considering radiation treatment for various reasons, see my separate post above, " How should I choose which treatment ?   by enyl, Apr 21, 2010 11:30AM ", so would appreciate any advice you can give, thanks.
PS: you can post your answer here or under my thread above.

Hi there, you kindly sent me a note after I posted about my father's prostate cancer, when he was diagnosed late last year. How are you getting on? My father had radiotherapy and is now clear. Would like to know how you are.
Thanks, Sarah. (UK)
