is there any hope

I had tram-flap reconstruction July 2006.  Since then I have had 2 surgical attempts to correct a VENTRAL HERNIA -LEFT SIDE UNDER RECONSTRUCTED BREAST (oops on the caps).  I has has 2 different Drs put mesh in and I still have about 55 tacks holding it in placed, although I feel the tacks surfacing and burning.  The surgeon does not know what elso to do and only says to try to controL the pain with pain medication & hopefully in years to com, the pain will lesson.  I have so much pressure & pain that sometimes I am short of breath.  I am generally miserable and cry all the time.  If any one has anything that might help, pleaselet me know.  Thanks,  Barby

Thank you so much for replying to my question.  I can not begin to tell you how much I appreciate it.  To think there may be something that could lessen my pain is so hopeful.  I will now begin to do my homework and try to find a Dr in the Southern Calif. area that is experienced and familiar with allomax. Warmly, Barby

It is possible that a new material called allomax will be able to help you. It will require the removal of the mesh and placing in this material that is actually human tissue made for this purpose. You will want to ask a plastic surgeon if he does this type of reconstruction. I believe that this will help you.
