What's right to say and what's wrong to say

My friend at school  today complemented me at school saying that I acted like a tomboy. I thanked him for the complement. After I finished lunch he began talking to me about women. He said he couldn't understand how women can have periods for months, or go through childbirth with losing so much blood and going through that much pain. I thought nothing of it because my friend has Autism and he doesn't know better, but when I told my mom she went ballistic. She said that nobody should ask me about those kinds of things. But my school basically knows what goes on with each other cause we took sex ed. classes. I'm very confused, got any advice?

Other than sex ed in the schools, sex ed info happens even more between teens and young adults.  I had sex ed in school and with 6 brothers would listen to every stitch of advice my best girlfriends were willing to share.

If you are uncomfortable with any questions from any of your friends, you can always say " I don't know the answer to that " and either change the subject or walk away.

With your friend being Autistic, he may really have been thinking about the questions he asked you..A lot of boys really just can't wrap their heads around the female cycles...

I think your mom overreacted. Maybe it's best not to discuss the conversations you have with classmates with her. And it appears that she has little to no understanding of how autistic kids are, so you definitely shouldn't mention that kid to her again because she will probably just spout off more ignorant comments.
