Women hit on my boyfriend in front of me all the time

Women hit on my boyfriend in front of me. They smile at him and then look at me and frown. It really hurts my feelings that people can't be respectful and have to look at me so mean. It is starting to drive me insane and it is very hard for me to deal with. I love my boyfriend, but he is gawked at constantly by other women and that is very hard for me to deal with. I do not have a high self esteem so I think if all these women want him why me. I am depressed and can't function in life due to this. Someone help me. I love him and do not want to leave him due to my stupid irrational jealousy.

Have you thought about maybe the women who are rude to you might because they are jealous? When anybody got to know Nickie they would say things like " you don't deserve him" or " how did you get him" it was very hard to take and it hurt . But he never looked back. Give yourself a break he has a choice of women and he wants you. I've talked with you before and you are a wonderful person with a lot of love to give. I wonder if he deserves you. I think he's the lucky one. Love Gail

I think you do have some insight into your behaviour because look at your last sentence in your post - you yourself call your jealousy ''irrational''.... but for it to cause you to feel you cannot function in life..... really its time for proffessional help :-)

Hi, from reading this post and glancing at another of your posts on the depression forum about your irrational jealousy..... I think you may be reading the situation wrong.

I think it's very possible that women smile at your boyfriend but frown at you because they are getting strong negative vibes from you due to your jealousy issues..... so while it's just an innocent encounter/conversation between you, your boyfriend and another woman - your boyfriend is coming off normal and friendly,  but some part of  you is probably glaring angrily at her - which makes her frown at you. Or even if your not being obvious - women are usually intuative and they will get negative vibes from you!

And people do people watch when they are out in public - every woman who looks your boyfreinds way may not be 'constantly gawking' at him!

I really do believe you need to get your jealousy under control - or it will be the undoing of your relationship.... as I think I saw in your other post has happened in your past with another boyfiend.

Have you considered counselling to find out why you are this way inclined?

I say this all non-judgementally and to help - so if it does sound a bit harsh, I really do mean it to help you not destroy your relationship!
