Have I developed Chronic Bronchitis?

Here's my story. As a kid I had asthma. In my early teens I didnt even use a puffer...no problems at all.I started smoking weed around 15 and it became a daily habit until recently.

Over those years I had alot of anxiety and while never took any asthma meds I knew my breathing had been comprimised.I also had problems with my voice and lack of breath support creating alot of tension.

It turns out I was actually allergic to weed.It makes me sneeze, constricts my lungs, and if I rub it on my skin I get little red bumps appearing

So its been a month now since I have quit weed.I have felt a minimal improvement in my breathing.I dont really feel the need to cough. But I force myself to do it to clear some mucus from my lungs. Its got a harsh rattly sound to it.Like the front my lungs are vibrating violently.Ive had this cough for awhile. But like I said its not something that occurs but instead something I activate and force myself to do.I could go days without coughing no problem.I just choose to because it helps clear my lungs

Ive started taking my asthma meds again but it doesnt seem to be helping that much.Do they need more time?

Im worried I may have Chronic Bronchitis. Is it possible to have Chronic Bronchitis but without a spontaneous cough that you cant control?I feel as though I have an increased amount of mucus in my lungs.Could this just be because my asthma isnt well controlled and my lungs are trying to get better now that Ive quit the weed?

And also am I expecting too much of an improvement in my breathing just after a month of quitting

Hello,
I am about the same age as you, agathalou, --a little older
(mid 30's) and I am having the same type breathing problems as you.  It all started back in mid-November, but I was not exposed to anything (that I know of) like you were.  I have breathing difficulty that like you said, seems to get better when I lay down. It seems better to lay on my left side or flat on my stomach with my head elavated.  I'm also having that same strange feeling in my throat that is constant and annoying, almost a choking sensation at times or lump in the throat.  The cold weather makes it worse, as does the dry heat coming from the heater in the house, which dries out my mouth.  This is also causing dry mouth and swallowing problems. When I try to eat during these times, I almost choke as it cuts off my breath completely and feels like I have just had the wind knocked out me. The docs found nothing!  Please let me know how you are doing and if you find out what's causing this. Thanks. My e-mail is: ***@****
Good luck and God Bless. K
P.S. If anybody can help us figure out what could be causing this type of breathing problem, it would be greatly appreciated.  Thank you in advance.
