difficulty breathing

l have been having this problem of breathing for a long time.l am 19 yrs old and have been having difficulties  reaching full breathe,l feel a sharp pain in my chest and l feel like my lungs cant get enough oxygen.l try as hard as possible to breathe in and out when this happens..xrays pictures have shown nothing is wrong.l am worried.does anyone have an idea what it can be?

thanks again for your reply.l live in norway where getting medical help is not easy.doctors seem to be afraid to hand out medicine.they have checked and said everything looks okay

Hi, have you had lung functions tests done? as your symptoms could be due to Asthma. Cough, chest tightness and breathlessness are the triad of symptoms for Asthma. It is a disease affecting the lungs causing narrowing of the airways, usually due to an allergic reaction to triggering factors. Therapy is with bronchodilators which cause the airways to dilate. Have yourself evaluated for the same. This can be detected by a spirometry test. Please discuss this with your doctor am sure he will provide further assistance. Regards.
