hi my son always has chestinfactions he had them from birth he is now on and the dr just told me the same he is on two inhalers but there not helping all u get of the dr is she not worried
He is just on a salbutomol inhaler. I haven't noticed a difference to be honest. But I try alternative things, like a steam room, massaging his back and front, also I've noticed he sleeps a lot better when hes not flat. So I put a pillow under the mattress, this way he cant suffocate but still gets the benefit of the position. Since doing these, his infections haven't been so frequent. I think it has been 12 weeks since his last bout!
thanks for getting back now m docs wont say its asthma cos he not four could i ask u wot meds he on and dose it work for him
Hi, my son has exactly the same. he is 21 months now and has had loads of tests only to be told its 'asthma'. I'm not sure I believe that though, as the last few months he has got an excessive amount of mucus (has always had a rattly chest) that has on exertion, blocked his airway, leading to respiratory arrest. It is very scary, as I have to try to clear the airway. I'm sorry I don't have an answer as to what it is. The drs have said he should grow out of it, so I'm hopeful that it will happen! Its nice to know its not only us!
