You weren't at risk for herpes at all. The only likely oral HSV infection your partner might have had is HSV1. And as you say, you already have that -- your cold sores. People are immune to new infections, anywhere on the body, with the virus type they already have.
So I'm sorry you've gone through 9 months of unnecessary worry. But it's certainly over now and you can go forward with no concern at all.
Good luck.
Thx very much for your comments. Is there anyway it could be HSV 2 that they picked up orally in their mouth from an interaction they had with someone who had HSV2 and could pass it back to me? Hope that makes sense.
Oral HSV2 can occur but is rare, and oral sex almost never transmits HSV2, only HSV1. You really needn't be worried at all. Try to get past the anxieties you have been carrying all these months and move on without worry. This is a non-event in your life.
Sounds good, thanks for you comments very much
