Hello I am a male 24yrs old. About 3 weeks after an unprotected sexual encounter I started experiencing a burning/tingling in my pubic area. Its been a couple days and the tingling has spread to random places in my body. I recently went to the doctor and she was pretty confident this wasn't an std. We did all STD bloodwork and urine sample and currently waiting on those results.Even did herpes test even though I will have to repeat in another 2 months or so for a more accurate result. The tingling ranges from almost nothing to very quick lighting pains(pretty rare). I noticed if my mind is not thinking about the symptoms( playing video games or preoccupied with some other activity) I do not feel the sensations at all. Today the tingling is more on my inner thigh than the pubic area. Im not sure what this could be. I have never had herpes and if I do this would be my first outbreak. I have had shingles before about 3-5 yrs ago but no other incidents after that subsided. What do you think this could be? First symptoms started in the tip of penis a couple of months ago but it was so infrequent and nominal tingling that I paid it no mind. The tingling in my tip reappeared after my most recent sexual encounter (3 weeks ago).Recently, last Friday, it moved to the pubic area and was very noticeable all day. Over that same weekend I have experienced tingles in every part of my body from my fingers, butt, thighs, lips, chest, toes. It is still more noticeable in the private area. Please help I have been very depressed and anxious surfing the web for hours looking up the cause of these symptoms. I don't know what this could be. I do smoke a lot of marijuana but other than that I am pretty healthy. I work out often and these symptoms haven't decreased my strength or energy. No legions, bumps, redness, or discharge. No other symptom other than nerve tinglings.
1. What could be the cause of these symptoms?
2. Is this just the beginning of more symptoms?
3. Should I be so depressed about my symptoms?
4. Do any stds/diseases start only with tingling of the nervous system?
thank you for your time!
