STD transmission

I have recently started a relationship with a guy. We have not had sex but we have slept together. He touched his penis and then touched me I am worried that certain conditions can be transmitted in this way. If I wanted to get tested what conditions would I have to worry about? Also I have mentioned to him that he should not touch himself and then touch me, but he did not take my concern seriously how can I talk to him about issues surrounding transmission? Also would it be best to persuade him to go for a check up as I do not think he has been? He mostly practises safe sex although I do not think he practises safe sex when it comes to oral sex.

I forgot to add I am not sure if any pre-ejaculatory fluid was on his hand when he touched me.

There is no way you would have gotten anything from the touch.

If you want him to test, tell him "I think we should both test before we have sex.  Its something that will make me comfortable to have sex with you."  That way, its something you both are doing to be proactive, and you are accusing him of having anything.  Besides, I always figure if the boy wants to get lucky, he can go pee in a cup and have some blood drawn, ya know?

Also, you sound as if you have anxiety about stds, and it might be because you don't really know how they are transmitted.  www.ashastd.org has some great info on all the stds, and how you get them and don't.
