azithromycin time to cure

I have read you are no longer contagious after 48 hours post Azithromycin treatment (1g single dose) for chlamydia. Both Dr Handsfield and Killian have mentioned this in the forum. Is that correct? I was treated empirically on friday morning and had unprotected sex on sunday morning, test came back positive tuesday. Trying to understand if I have exposed my partner on Sunday
Thanks

Depends what you were treated for. For things like gono and chlamydia its best to wait around 7 days and retest just to make sure. Im not disagreeing with the doctors but 48 hours for gono seems a little short .

Thanks for your reply,
Tested positive for chlamydia. No symptoms, treated 4 days after exposure. 48 hours after treatment I should not be contagious?
