1 g doss of Azithromax is this an effective treatment

I have read that 1 g (4 pills) is sufficient and I have read where 2 g (8 pills) is effective.  I know this is a realtively new treatment for Gohorrhea but has been used quite successfully for chlamydia?

I wouldn't self medicate.  If its not chlamydia, then you have screwed yourself for getting a test for 2 weeks if the symptoms don't go away.

A one gram dose is effective for treating Chlamydia, but there is a large percentage of gonorrhea strains that are resistent to the macrolides. It is always best to not self medicate. Please see your Health care provider. Even I see my own Doctor on a regular basis.

Yes, I am looking to self medicate and I only have Zithromax available but do believe I have been exposed to gonorrhea.
