6 weeks back i had insertive oral sex

6 weeks ago i had insertive oral sex with someone and I feared a lot . Since I was having mild pain in my testicles mostly on the left I feared of STIs and tested 5 days back for all STDs. I hoped so as advised by a Urologist & Sexologist doctor who is famous here in my city in India.

Everything was negative the doctor said. VDRL negative tested twice in a gap of on month after exposure.. Doctor said i dont have STDs. the pain might be due to stress. But he gave me Doxycyline for 15 days twice a day. But he didnt order for Chlaymydia Gonorrhea tests seperatedly. They did Urine Pathology.
which confirmed negative for proteins, glucose, bilirubin, urobilinogen ketone bodies.pus cells.. everything showed nil.

I still worry whether the doctor missed to do tests for Chlaymydia Gonorrhea. I asked him. He said I dont have any infection.  Do i need to ask the doctor again regarding those two tests?? Please let me know.

You'll need to address these questions to the doctors who examined you. As a guess, they prescribed doxycycline mostly because you seemed especially anxious and/or you talked them into it. In any case, none of this changes my opinion or advice above.

After I visited two different Urology/Sexologist and examined for any STD and got confirmed by them that I dont have any such infection. The reason why i visited doctor was fearing any STD after some insertive oral sex encounter as you know i have already explained that. Also i had some pelvic pain and  pain around and sometimes in my testicles. One of the doctors prescribed Doxycyline for 10 day and the other prescribed same for 14 days. I dont understand why they gave Doxycycline when they said i have no Chlamydia Gonorrhea Syphilis infection though they didnt order for Chlamydia and Gonorrhea. Since I also have some Irritable Bowel problem i still thinking whether to take the medicine as they prescribed. I explained them that i have IBS..But still they asked me to take the medicine. Dont know why..If i take Doxycyline for 10 days or 14 days will that free me from Chlamydia or Gonorrhea in case if at all by any chance had the infection by any chance?? OR there any other medicine that can be taken as injection instead of oral Doxycycline..The Doctors i visited didnt respond properly when i again asked them the same question and asked me to take the medicine instead..Please let me knwo if any injection available instead of oral Doxy to help me not to irritate my bowel syndrome..Please help...

The VDRL and RPR give false positive results quite commonly, which is why a positive result always must be confirmed by additional testing. If the confirmatory test is negative, it proves the initial test was false and that syphilis is absent, as was then confirmed by your later negative tests as well.  You can move on without worry.

Hi Howard,

You have responded enough already for my questions. As i described in my posts I tested self in a local laboratory for VDRL and it was positive. There began my fear. Thats y i went for all the above said tests. But i thought consulting doctor to know what other tests to be done. So I tested through two different Sexologist's clinics for all Andrology Panel 1 and 2. At both places VDRL(RPR) came negative (non-reactive).. Doctor said i have no problems. But the very first test i did before seeing the doctors by myself in a local laboratory gave VDRL RPR positive..Thats what confuses me...Why my very first test came positive for VDRL and the later two tests for the same came negative.Hope you can have idea on this..pls...

Thanks..

Yes. Stop worrying. You're in the hands of an expert and can be sure you have no STD or any other health problem from the sexual exposure (except maybe emotional).

I never had pus or discharge these 6 weeks after exposure..
.
Also they did scrotal scan to rule out epididymitis or orchitis..and the result came negative. Transrectal scan for prostate..that too came negative for any abnormalities.

So I can trust and rest to sleep, right??

Oral sex is safe sex, even with a very sexually active partner. The risk is low for all STDs (MUCH lower than vaginal or anal sex) and zero risk for some. Your symptoms are not suggestive of an STD, but are typical for anxiety over a regretted sexual exposure. In other words, your doctor is exactly right.

Chlamydia is one of the STDs never transmitted by oral sex or only very rarely. Gonorrhea is possible but would have caused obvious discharge of pus from your penis and not the symptoms you describe. So nothing was lost in not testing for them.

It seems you have a knowledgeable doctor and that you can trust him to manage these issues correctly.
