I'd still check to make sure you had a herpes test. Its not often included in std testing, even if you say "test me for EVERYTHING." "Everything" really varies from doctor to doctor, and clinic to clinic.

You could also be at risk for gonorrhea and syphilis, but the chances of that are low.
Have you ever been tested for herpes? If you already have type 1 herpes, the chances of you getting it genitally are slim. Just avoid oral with someone who has an active cold sore, and you'd be fine. Many people get herpes type 1 as a child - about 60% of the population has it - and most don't get any symptoms of it.
Ask your doctor for a type specific IgG herpes blood test.

I am extremely careful using protection when having NON oral sex, so hate running the when indulging in oral! find it stupid, that everyone looks at you like you are a Parafreak when I mention oral dams, a lot of men have not heard of them and are not interested in using them.Right, herpes.
