Am I over-reacting?

Last week I went to a strip club and engaged in mutual masterbation with one of the strippers. Two days later I devloped urinary tract symptoms. Pain during urination, pain at tip of penis, and urnie drip. My doctor prescribed me Cipro, yet it did not seem to work. About one week later i started having a burning sensation.discomfort in my testicles (scrotum), especially when i sit down for long periods of time. I went to a urologist and he said i have acute prostatis and eurethritis. he prescribed me doxycycline and phenazopyridine. I was tested for chlamydia, gonorhea, and trichomaonas, and they all came back negative. I had no sexual intercouse of any kind with the stripper, no ral nothing. I have never had sex before period. Im concerned because they didnt test for herpes. Is there a possibility I have herpes even though theres no visible sores what so ever. Should I go get tested. Or is this just anxiety thats really bothering me.

It should at least show white blood cells.  Maybe its just residual inflammation from whatever was going on in the first place.

There's NO possibility for stds if you've not had oral or genital sex.

thanks

prostate is now fine and my urinalysis shows no bacteria but is still have the pain in the tip of the penis (no other symptoms). doc even did a cystoscopy (nothing anatomically wrong) i'm at a loss for what this could be.  there's a low possibility for std's but wouldn't the urinalysis show *something* is wrong if there were some std bacteria present?

thanks so much

They are probably keeping whatever bacteria you have inhibited enough to not over grow, but not killing it.

There are many bacteria that can cause prostatitis, so you need to have your doc do a urine and sperm test to find out exactly what bacteria you have so you can use the proper meds.

Good luck!

thanks. the symptoms i had (pain at the tip of penis) went away after using levaquin (dr called it a prostatitis) then came back 3 months later. i took another 10 days of levaquin, symptoms went away, then came back. took cipro, felt better after 1st day, then symptoms came back 1 week later.

any thoughts on why the symptoms go away after using levaquin and cipro (temporarily)?

thanks

Cipro used to be used for gonorrhea, but isn't anymore, or shouldn't be.  It might cure gonorrhea, but it might not.  Not a chance I'd want to take.

Levaquin will cure chlamydia, and that's it.

Have you considered getting help for it?  They have great meds now and awesome therapy approaches that really work.

Is this anxiety a new thing for you, or is this common for you?

Truly, you are at NO risk for herpes from this encounter.

I'm driving myself nuts over here thinking I have herpes. I find myself looking it up on all these websites, where it says you may have the virus and not even know it. I truly had no sexual intercourse, and I may have touched myself briefly after fingering the stripper, my mind is telling me I have it, and i know it cant be true. Thanks alot for your response.

This has nothing to do with your encounter.  You can't get anything from mutual masturbation.

Cipro doesn't cure most stds, and might only cure gonorrhea, but its not even the preferred treatment of gonorrhea.  I hate that docs just keep using that, but that's beside the point.

But it doesn't matter - if you've not had sex, this can't be an std.  The only form of herpes you'd have to worry about it hsv1, and that's only if someone has performed oral sex on you.  None of your symptoms sound like herpes at all, by the way.
