Antibody Creation

I had a partner who insisted I gave them syphilis.  I got tested myself a week after them and the test came back negative.  This included the standard test and the more advanced antibody test.  I never had any symptoms but that is possible.

I have been emailed multiple times by the person months after insisting I gave it to him and said it takes longer for people to get antibodies.  Is it possible for me to have had it, got to a stage where I can pass it on, have him get symptoms, test it, and then tell me and I get tested for me to still not have had the antibodies for the more advanced test?

Not sure if I should get tested again or if I should blow this off as person being overly worried about it.

Sorry to bother you again Grace.  Just got told that I was their first time.  Not sure if they are lying but what are the chances that I am completely without symptoms.  Cancors can be missed since they would have been in my mouth but all summer I did not notice any rashes on my hands or feet, never really got sick or lost any hair.  Not sure how common or if it is possible to totally avoid the secondary stage of the disease.

Sorry if I came off as expecting you to know all the statistics was just confused about the slightly conflicting infos.

it's not a 0 chance of a false negative but pretty good odds that it isn't. I don't have the stats memorized for syphilis testing like I do other testing.

I was just wondering since on of the things I asked the doctor when I got my results was the chance of a false negative.  The doctor said since they did the anti-body test it was a 0% chance of a false negative.

Okay I will, though just to clarify, the odds of me having it it prior to this and giving it to the other person is slim to none?  Or 100% Impossible?

still more likely that they had syphilis prior to you and just never knew it.

to protect yourself fully, repeat your syphilis testing if it was done sooner than 6 weeks after having sex with this partner just to make sure you didn't contract syphilis from them.

I am pretty sure I had sex with someone in that 6 week period but it was a month between when we had sex and I was told they got infected.

if you hadn't had sex with anyone other than them for 6 weeks prior to your own testing, their syphilis didn't come from you.

It was at a Planned Parenthood clinic that they got tested.  I never got contacted by anyone other then the person infected.  And I am sorry to say I can't remember, this was about 4 months ago.  I am just asking now since I got emailed 'again' today saying how antibodies take different amounts of time to be created.

well sounds like they are being overly worried more than anything.

typically the health department contacts all partners reported by someone infected - have they contacted you yet?  ( if you are in the US of course )

how long previous to this partner had you last had sex with anyone else?
