Any chance of STD infection.

Greetings MedHelp experts!

Found this site purely by chance - but I hope the experts here will be able to give me advice on my current prediciment.........

I'm late thirties male, married, healthy (I do have anxiety and self esteem issues and am having counselling) and hitherto STI free but have been bi-curious for a while, but have never acted upon those feelings, preferring to be faithful and monogamous until recently. Anyway, I ended up going to a gay sauna - I was just curious. Ended up kissing another man quite vigoursly and there was some touching and the other man firtsly gave me a handjob. He then tried to perform oral sex - in trying to do so, and just in time I covered myself up and didn't allow this to happen.

Realising that I was feeling very uncomfortable with this situation, I removed myself from the Sauna and went home. That was the absolute extent of my encounter.

Fast forward, it's been nearrly six and a half weeks since this regrettable encounter. In those six weeks I have been watching my body for any signs of infection and have to say that there has been none -

No pain when urinating
No discharge,
No ache's or tenderness in my testes.
No signs or blisters, lesions or chancker sores.
In actual fact, no nothing that would be considered sinister in terms of STI infection.

I think ultimately what I am worried about is Syphilis - as I've heard that almost all cases are in the Bi-sexual and Gay communities.  Which has worried me a little. So, in light of that my question is;

Have I put myself at risk for Syphilis or any other STI's and is there a need to test just to be sure?

Grateful for any advice given.

Apololgies for adding another post, but would like some general info if possible please.........

Okay, I understand my non-risk and am not willing to get into the "what if" situation, so this is just a general question.

Re; Syphilis - would the sore appear at the site of infection, or anywhere on the body randomly? And what is the general median time for the sore to appear?

Also, I've had a read in here and the Dr's forum and both Dr's Hook and Hansfield have it on record that Oral sex doesn't pose as high a risk for infection from STI's than full vaginal\anal sex. Is this correct?

Again, I want to stress this is not a "what if" question, just a general query. Bluntly; I don;t know the answer to those questions.

Thanks for the quick answer. So no risk even with the handjob? That's a great relief. Being honest, I have worked myself up into quite a state over this, mainly thought guilt, a little OCD over the whole STI\D thing etc, but also opening up to another side of myself. I certainly don;t wish to repeat this episode again.

No you did not put yourself at risk for a STD/STI. No need to worry about this, just keep up with the therapy.
