On August 11, I had protected vaginal intercourse and received unprotected oral from a sex worker in Thailand. 8 days later, I had a red lesion on my testicles for which my doctor diagnosed as fungal infection which I used an anti fungal cream on. It started to heal but about the same time, my testicles burned slightly and were very red.
Went back to the doctor on August 29 and he diagnosed it as epidydymitis for which I took 1000 mg of azithromycin and 500 mg of ciproflozacin at once. (I later found out this is used to cure chlamydia and/or gonorrhea). The antibiotics did great thankfully, as the redness went away and no burn in the testicles. However, the first week after taking the antibiotic (from say August 29 to September 7, I felt quite weak). I assumed this was from the strong dose.
But the biggest alarm I have is since September 11 till today my tongue has been white and my throat feels like there is a lump insid, although it does not hurt. Drinking lots of water, eating garlic, swishing with coconut oil has greatly helped bring it to a normal color temporarily but it goes back to white and blotchy after a while. My question is, would this be a side effect of the Azithro and Cipro? It is hard to tell from reading online so I thought I would ask.
On an STD side note, I had taken an STD test on August 28 (prior to taking my antibiotics) for chlamydia, gonorrhea and syphillius and came back negative. I did come back positive for gardnerella. I assume I still have gardnerella since my doctor who prescribed me the meds did not know I had it at the time. I do not think this is HIV related as I used protection but still plan to take an HIV test next week as a piece of mind (I read white tongue/thrush can be a symptom of HIV ARS on google).
Anyway, if you know if my white tongue and lumpy throat feeling is a side effect of azithro and cipro, given I took them on August 29? Or perhaps something else, perhaps?
