Azithromycin 1g for chlamydia and gonorrhea

I am working in a country where medical help is difficult to come by, and women's sexual health is severely underserved. I went to a clinic to be tested for STIs because of a risky encounter I had and some irregularities I noticed. Sure enough, I was diagnosed with both chlamydia and gonorrhea. The doctor prescribed me 1g of azithromycin. From information I've found from independent research, I don't believe this is going to be sufficient to cure the gonorrhea. Is there any chance both infections will be cured? Is it possible it cured the chlamydia even if the gonorrhea still persists? I will go back to be retested, but I'm not sure if the recommended treatments for gonorrhea are even available here. Will a larger dose of azithromycin cure the gonorrhea?

No, the medicine was administered orally. Thank you both!

The treatment for coinfection with both gononrrhoeae and Chlamydia is Azithromycin. It should work for both. Did you have an injection? However, some GC strains are very resistant. It would be good to get retested in about 6 weeks to make sure you are clear from both.

I really can't give you much medication advice other then Chlamydia will probably be cured, but for gonorrhea I am not certain.
