I was misdiagnosed by my gynecologist for two months, I even had a sonogram of my lower abdomen and she found that one of my tubes was dilated. She just kept treating me for a yeast infection, but recently I went to a new doctor and she found that I had a really bad case of BV which in return caused my fallopian tube to become inflamed like with PID, your case sounds a lot like mine so I would definitely suggest you go back to your doctor or to a new doctor and have them look at a swab of your vaginal fluid under a microscope that will instantly tell them if you still have bacteria in your vagina, which could be causing the cramping.
The correct medicine to take is what 2terrified explained, metronidazole (or flagyl) which can be taken orally or vaginally. Also when taking antibiotics it's a good idea to be careful because it can cause a yeast infection which would bring you back at square one, which is why my doctor prescribed diflucan at the same time as when I took the metro-gel. Hope this helps :)
Also do not douche, or use any kind of feminine deodorants or powders they can sometimes make matters worse, especially douches because they could push the bacteria up into your vagina. <----- only saying because I learned that the hard way.
This maybe a bladder infection, I would try to move up the appointment. Tell them the pain that you have and you are worried about it.
Thanks for the answer. I guess I don't have reasons to think that I have a STD whit what I've done but I can't stop thinking about it. But what worried me most is that this is going for one week and I can only get an appointment with my doctor next Tuesday. Is that a too long wait if I have PID? I don't feel so much pain right now, just a shar pain in my bladder (it seems) when I urinate but that goes away quickly
I have read that untreated BV has been linked to cervicitis which can then turn into PID. After everything I have read, you only got treated for chlamydia. Usually, if they test you for gonorrhea, you are tested for chlamydia as well because it is not uncommon to have both at the same time. But doxycycline does not treat gonorrhea nor BV. That it is treatment for chlamydia.
Did you go to a gynecologist or a general practioner? I find it odd that you weren't prescribed flagyl or metronidazole for the BV. You need to ask your doctor some questions so you can get a better understanding of what happened. You weren't treated properly for BV which is probably why you are having these symptoms. Either go back to your doctor or get a referal to a good gynecologist.
