Ok, here goes…
I have had unprotected oral sex with the same escort about 8 times over the course of a year and a half. (Always oral and receiving, but sometimes giving) Last August, which was about 6 months after our first encounter, I had an extreme burning sensation while urinating. (Like a flaming barbed wire was passing out of my urethra) I went to CVS, bought some cranberry tablets and the burning stopped 3-4 days later. About a month after this incident, I noticed that I sometimes had a slight burn when I peed in the mornings. (But no barbed wire sensation) On these occasions, I noticed my urine to be darker in color and it sometimes emitted a foul odor. I also had sharp groin pains that would pop up and last a few seconds during the day, although this occurred with much less frequency than the other symptoms. The head of my penis had a slight redness to it near the urethra opening and I would get small red bumps on my penis head after masterbating. I also noticed that my orgasms were more intense and I had a lasting tingling feeling in my penis afterwards. On two occasions my ejaculate came out cold enough for me to notice it in my hand after masterbating. I’ve never noticed a discharge of any sorts…or if there has been then it has been clear.
The Thursday before Memorial Day weekend, I had another encounter with this escort. When we were done, we talked for a few minutes afterwards. I covertly made up a story that someone was spreading around that she gave them an STD on a website that she advertises on. She responded that she gets checked on a regular basis and claimed that she was “Probably one of the cleanest girls in the industry”. As she is in the business of money for sex, and the business is shady to begin with, I don’t put a lot of stock in what she said. But at the time it made me feel better.
4 days later I woke up to the same sensations I had back in August. But this time I had one of two urine streams: Different directions or a dribble. There was also a hesitation to get a urine stream of any sort started. (Not sure if this was physical or psychological, as I knew that it would hurt) I also noticed that the middle of my shaft was very tender and seemed to radiate pain in both directions when pressure was applied. (Think of an internal black eye) I could also feel the veins on both sides of my penis more defined. My testicles were a little tender and had a blue balls feeling. I checked myself by masterbating and sure enough, it was painful to ejaculate. I bought some UTI medication and tried to clear it up on my own. Friday rolled around, and the symptoms were getting more intense, so I went to the ER room. They took a sample and mentioned that I had bacteria in my urine. The doctor diagnosed me with Chlamydia (More on this below) and gave me a prescription for Doxy (2x per day), Cipro (2x per day) and an industrial strength tablet of the same UTI medication I had been taking (3x per day for 3 days). Since this time I have had 9 doses, including my last UTI tablet this morning, with a 10th dose scheduled for tonight. The only changes I have noticed, besides orange urine and watery stools, is that the barbs have become a little duller when passing out of my urethra and the tenderness in the middle of my shaft isn’t nearly as intense. However, I am worried that the pain will intensify as I am out of the tablets prescribed to null it and prolonged use can damage your kidneys.
I also got treated for bacterial pink eye on Sunday and that has seemed to clear up through prescription eye drops and Benadryl. So I know for certain that bacteria is somewhere in the equation.
The ER doctor’s examine consisted of looking at my urine results, stretching my penis like a rubber band and asking “Does this hurt?” I told him of my situation and he said that there was no need for a test, it was probably Chlamydia. (He ruled out Gonnerhea because of my lack of noticeable discharge) However, I’ve read that the medications I am taking will clear both Chlamydia and Gonnerhea…so I suppose he wanted to cover his bets. From what I’ve read, oral sex can transmit Chlamydia but it is very rare. But on other sites, they list oral sex as the third way of transmission behind vaginal and anal. I do not know if this is a “scare tactic” to promote the use of condoms, but there is no specification of the words “rare” or “sometimes”. (Like 1 in 1000 or 1 in 10?)
Important points of note: I am a type 2 diabetic and have controlled this through diet and exercise. (Read: No pills or shots) Except for with this escort, I do not ever engage in receptive oral sex. I have also worked out extensively since February and have lost 30 pounds in that time. (Not a brag, but I wanted to give all the details in case I’m missing some info) I am also 30 years old.
I suppose that my questions are these:
-Does this sound like a Chalmydia infection?
-a.) If it is a Chlamydia infection, is it normal for the burning sensation to clear up on its own within a 4-day period and reappear 10 months later?
b.) Is it possible to get rid of the burning sensation caused by Chlamydia through OTC meds/time or does it require prescription meds to cease. (Understanding that even if the symptoms are gone, the infection is still there)
-Should I be feeling any bit of relief from my symptoms on Day 4 while realizing that the infection may not be cleared up?
-What is the appropriate amount of time to see little change in your symptoms before I should see a urologist? I have 6 days of meds left to take.
Thanks for your help.
