you need the full dose if you tested positive. since unproperly treated chlamydia can lead to complications with your fertility, it's important to get properly treated for this.
you can test for chlamydia, gonorrhea and trich after 1 weeks post encounter. syphilis after 6 weeks. herpes, hiv and hepatitis after 3 months. if there was another partner involved with either of you, full std testing at the proper times is a good idea.
Husband was also treated. I was told the infection did not seem severe so I am wondering if this is why the lower dose. This is also the first time I've taken antibiodics for anything in about 7years. It is a new infection and we were both there when it happened, I'm not concerned about that or that it will happen again. We both had a minor oversight in an exciting moment. Husband will be going for testing in about 5 weeks, that is what our doctor suggested, I guess dead bacteria can cause a positive before that time?
that was the wrong dose and you need the proper dose. call your provider, ask them to please recheck the dose and give you a new prescription. you should take the full 1gm dose and wait a full week before resuming sex again.
if either you or your husband have had new partners recently, you should both get full std testing at the proper times to cover all the bases properly.

Are you not curious how you got chlamydia if your married? I can say that you could have gotten a false positive or maybe it is a new infection?
Sex is advised 1 week after medication. Can't advise on proper medication, you have to speak to Dr about that. Often medication will make symptoms happen, or maybe it's a yeast infection.
Was husband tested? treated?
above should read: whether or not my dosing should be sufficient.
