Syphilis Rash - How long will it last after treatment?

I was recently diagnosed with syphilis. Based on the timeframe of my last risky sex encounter and the symptoms (wart-like sores on penis shaft and under balls, faint diffuse rash on body and arms), I gathered that it was in the secondary stage, though the doc didn't specify.

He prescribed 2 weekly penicillin injections. Received the first round today.

It's been over 8 hours since the injection and I haven't received any of the side effects like diarrhea or fever, but I did notice that the rash, which was previously very faint and could only be seen upclose and under bright lighting, has become super pronounced, super red, and visible in areas where they previously couldn't be seen (forearms, neck).

1. Is it normal for a syphilis rash to become so much more pronounced immediately following penicillin treatment?
2. How long will it generally take (I know it varies, but a ballpark timeframe based on experience would help!) for both the rash and the sores around my penis to fade away?
3. How do the sores typically disappear? Do they just slowly shrink and fade, or do they go through more of like a drying up and scabbing over process like a cut?

Any advice that would reduce my stress would help. Thanks!

Hi if a person tests positive for syphilis a second test is performed to confirm as the first test only shows antibodies which could be from an old exposure or a false positive which is more sensitive. so take the second test to confirm you have it now.

To add on to my post, the rash has become pronounced enough for me to see that they are kind of in a ring shape, like numerous (flat) angry red rings over my body.
