Do I have an STD?

I had unprotected sexual relations with a girl who had four other boyfriends previously. Recently, after about a month and a half, I developed coughing and a fever that came and went. Now I was told that one of the symptoms of hiv could be flu like symptoms, so I went and got tested. They used the oral test and it came out negative. What are the chances that I could hiv or any std and should I be worried?

You should never use symptoms as an accurate marker of HIV.  Coughing and a fever could be symptoms of may different things, most likely a garden variety virus.  Your negative HIV test is good evidence that you do not have HIV.  Technically, a test at 3 months is conclusive, but a negative test at 6 weeks is pretty darn good.  If you are going to worry, get tested again at 3 months to be 100% sure.
Good luck,
Em
