Dysphagia due to some infection

Hello,

3 months ago in Hungary (where I live) I kissed a lot in two consecutive evenings with a South African woman (I just mention origin in case geographical info may be a hint to anyone). We also had a very brief partial unprotected vaginal intercourse (probably half a minute)  but I dont think thats of relevance because my only symptoms Im about to share was oral and no genital symtoms at all (HIV test also came back negative a month later). So I think it was the kissing. A few days later I started to have throat ache. First it looked like an innocent flue or cold. About 4-5 days later the pain was pretty severe already but what scared me is some stuff in my throat being swollen ao much that it didnt let me breath during night. I went to the doctor. He said its severe tonsillitis and also my throat is inflamed everywhere, edemas.  4 days antibiotics no improvement. Meanwhile I startsd to have difficulty swallowing food (called Disohagia). I thought t was a temporary issue due to the tonsillitis / inflammation.

After antibiotics didnt help on the 4 day control check dr said I had an abscess in the throat that requires surgery. And also started a different antibiotics intraveneously. After the surgery and 10 days hospitalization I was released but I still had difficulty swallowing food. Doctors never give much attention to this complaint they just wantrd to treat the abscess and edemas by anti iotics.

After 3 weeks antibiotics in total (IV plus pills ) I stopped and it came back, the breathing issue. The swallowing difficulty never even ceased. They said the tonsilitis came back they made a tonsillectomy to get the tonsils removed as potential inflammation core. It was a huge amount of pain and hardship but Im now in the 5th week post-tonsillectomy (post-op) and the surgery wounds have been long healed more or less and the related pain is gone.

Despite all this, what has never gone away is the dysphagia. I still cant swallow food easily, food still gets stuck in my esophgaus often until I drink water. Its just as bad as a month ago. Its really scary because I its far from a normal life quality, always in fear when I will choke on a bite of bread, always guessing if it will ever get better if I can eat again normally.

Some doctors think its acid reflux related but they ignore my history. I had never a history of refllux. But I had a sudden onset of dysphagia that started with a throat infection.

My Std tests came back negative although I took them during antibiotics cure but they are blood tests for antibodies so I was told maybe antibiotics shouldnt make them false negative. These neg tests included: HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamidya, hepatitis...

The removed tonsils were stained and came back p16 over-expressing but HPV negative. I read 25% of normal tonsil tissues show p16 positive histology so it shouldnt in itself be of concern.

I read perhaps candida, syphilis pr even tuberculosis or some tropical diseases (that may be present in South Africa) can cause dysphagia and some other symptoms I have (a few white spots on tongue painful, white tongue, this has been so from the beginning, it got worse after tonsillectomy though). Syphilis was negative test but i read it can be false neg especially before the 3rd week of infection. Tuberculosis I was vaccinated against it as a baby but I read this may not prevent infection in adulthood. Candida could do this but it would usually get better on its own - especially because I also did 10 days of corsodyl gargling which usually kills candida.

So this is where I am. Anyone any knowledge of what infection could cause dysphagia, esophagal dismotility, difficulty of swallowing and tonsillitis, white tongue / white spots, and all these within just a week of infection? And not HIV, and not responding to cefuroxim and azythromycin treatments.

I also had a tick bite on the same day when I met this woman and I sent the tick to be tested and it contained Lyme bacteria but I couldnt test myself to Lyme because the antibiotic cure had to be started urgently due to the described problems. But a Lyme soecialist said that with all the antibiotics Ive taken Lyme should be dead by now even if I had it and that my dysphagia is not related to that. So that’s all.
