Dysuria/Urethritis and Conjuctivitis in both eyes!

Hello! I am freaking out. I am a man who has sex with men. I got tested for gonorrhea/Chlamydia and all results came back negative. I have been experiencing burning pain when I urinate, and can not masterbate because ejaculation causes the same burning feeling. I dont have pus discharge. Around 2 days after I started experiencing this dysuria burning pain in my urine, I got Conjuctivitis in both eyes. My doctor put me on Zithromax 2 grams to kill off Chlamydia/Gonorrhea...but the tests say that I dont HAVE those 2 STDs! I now am on tobramax for my eyes....The NGU has been going on for about 8 days now, and the conjuctivitis for 5 days. Do you know what could be the problem? I went today to the urologist and had him take a swab of my urethra to test for Adenovirus. Could that be the culprit? How long will this last?! Im going insane!

I just said its different for everyone, but if its adenovirus, it shouldn't be longer than a couple of weeks.

So, you are saying i should be done with the NGU dysuria and Conjuctivitis in another week? Its already been a week. How long does this usually last from beginning to end?

I wouldn't think much longer than a week or two - its a virus, and everyone responds differently.

I know - again a lousy answer.  :(

Well then it might well be adenovirus, and you'd just have to let it run its course.  Lousy answer, I know.  :(

If you don't have adenovirus, and the zithromax doesn't work, have them do a urine culture and see what grows.

It could be adenovirus, but I'd also get your prostate checked.

The eye stuff might not even be connected, and its just lousy timing.
