chlamidya during pregnancy

I realy need your help. I have one sexual partner for 7 yesrs, as well as he. I am 15 week pregnant, and 2 weeks ago a turned positive on chlamidya. The limit for negative is 1.8 and I was 1.8 and the computer wrote positive. The doctor advise me not to get any theraphy ,but to do the testing again. I hade positive antigene 1.16 (marks of the results|).
I have never been tested for chlamidya before.
My questions are:
Can I get it otherwise than in sexual way, since we bouth claim that haven't had any other partner. Is it posible?
Can it hurt my baby (I will have cezarea birth, like with the first child) . Can I lose my baby?
Should I get some medicine, concidering I am pregnant?

Thank you very much for your help.

M.

Sounds like you had an antibody blood test for Chlamydia. I have posted before on the unreliability of this test. You should ask for a cervical culture for  Chlamydia to be sure. Chlamydia is easily treated during pregnancy. Your Doctor can advise you futher. Be sure to have your sexual partner go for exam and treatment also. Take care.

Chlamydia is passed through sexual intercourse.  Has your lover been tested as well?  He will most likely come out positive for it.  He needs to be treated.

I always thought pregnant women could be treated safely as well.  Get a second opinion.  Untreated chlamydia can infect and damage the reproductive organs.

I think the only way your baby can contract it is through a vaginal birth while you still are infected.  Baby should be safe now.

Please take care!

You can only get chlymidia through sex. I would advise on re-testing also.
If you have a C-section then it can not be passed to the baby, only during vaginal birth will it be passed to the child.
Other then that I do not know if treating now with medicine is the right course of action, only the Dr would be able to advise you of that. But get the 2nd test and see how that comes out.
