Thank you for your quick response.
First of all, yes I am a male. In my first test, gonorrhea test showed that it was sensible to Cipro as well as Triaxon. So my doctor thought cirpo would help.
If I do a test tomorrow would it be accurate ? Because I finished Cipro two weeks ago only.
I also think that if the test shows gonorrhea again, it might have been resistant to Triaxon the second time ? Or I need higher dosage this time ?
Should I worry about another STD ? Even though me and my partner did all the tests and were negative, and I did another one 1st september negative as well (for other STIs), and she did another test for STIs as well last week.
This lasting symptoms horrify me.
Thank you again.
And sorry I forgot to answer that yes the discharge is penil, and my partner didn't have a swab rectal test. Also, I now how slight pain when I urinate, but masturbation has been different since then, I have a slight disconfort while ejaculating and it feels deep inside.
Something doesn't compute here. Gonorrhea is rarely tested for antibiotic susceptibility.
Where are you?
I am from Morocco. They did a culture and tested antibiotics on it, I have pictures and I can send them via mail or message.
No need to send pictures etc. Any lab or doctor that does that testing is likely to be highly expert in STD, so I recommend you continue to work with your doctor about your symptoms, the cause, and treatment. Alternatively, Morocco's National Institute of Hygiene is very respected for its STD services, prevention policies, etc. If you are in or near Rabat, you may have direct access; if not, I would think they could recommend doctors or clinics near you, or perhaps confirm the STD expertise of your doctor or clinic.
Thank you so much for this informations that I didn't know before.
I will do a test next week and comeback at you.
However my last concern is a hypocondria I developped about HIV. Since this is my first STD.
Me and my partner got full tests after my infection. All negative. Than I had a fourth generation test done on me after 9 weeks (which should be accurate). Than my partner did another test last week. (Exactly after 3 months of our unprotected sex) and cameback negative.
But I had a mouth ucler two weeks ago and I catched cold last week and got a runny noice along with a sorethroat for 2 days. I freaked out. What are the odds ?
Over the long run, you are correct to be worried about HIV -- but not at this time. Unprotected anal sex with a partner with gonorrhea is very high risk. Probably less in Morocco than in most industrialized countries, but I suspect that many Moroccan gay men travel and often have sex in Europe or North America. However, your partner's negative HIV test at 3 months is conclusive, so you can be sure you weren't infected and you can expect a negative result on your HIV test. The DUO (4th generation) HIV test is conclusive any time 4 weeks or more after exposure, so 9 weeks is enough and you don't need another test at 3 months. However, you should also have a syphilis blood test if that hasn't been done.
In the future, you need to get into the habit of 100% consistent condom use for anal sex, until you are certain that neither you nor your partner is having sex with anyone else. Even then, given your partner's record of having gonorrhea (and perhaps not informing you about his sexual contacts with other men), you should be very, very careful -- if in doubt, use condoms!
Your runny nose and other symptoms don't suggest HIV. No worries there.
Good luck.
Thank you so much. What a relief.
Hello again,
I am coming back at you after my test results. It cameback negative for all bacterias. So I am really worried that it might be something worst! I still have discharges during day, sometimes white and sometimes clear.
My doc said that I had severe reinfection and the damage was big. The discharges will continue up to 7 weeks before it heals completly. Is this reliable?
He didnt prescribe anything...
Keep working with your doctor. I have no other opinions or advice about this.
Thank you for taking time to answer all my questions. I saw another doctor today, he examined the fluids and said it was only seminal fluids and I don't need to worry about it. As the other doctor said, he asked me to give it time, and stop checking it everytime. He gave me a 10 days of Doxymicine and said he might extend it to 20 days, to eradicate chlamydia if there is any left there.
Thank you again.
Hello again,
Sorry for disturbing you again, my question is, could Doxycimine be responsible for anal itching ?
I noticed that my anal itching did go after I stopped taking it the first time.
Thank you
You received exactly the right treatment when you were first infected. The mistake was that your partner wasn't treated. That should have been done even though his tests were negative. (Did he have a swab test from the rectum?) Anyway, it is obvious you were reinfected (with epididymitis). This time it initially responded to treatment, but then symptoms returned and ciprofloxacin didn't help.
One of two things is going on here: either you have cipro-resistant gonorrhea (cipro should never be used against gonorrhea, it is highly unreliable); or some sort of non-gonococcal urethritis (NGU).
You need to return again to your doctor. Or see an STD specialist, if your doctor isn't one. This will be sorted out eventually, but you're going to need additional testing and probably different antibiotics. Please return with a follow-up ocmment about how it all turns out.
