Just found out today that is was a false positive for Syphilis. Thanks for all your help. Looks like I have an autoimmune disease :-( So ill be moving out of the STD community and into the autoimmune community.
Astrobelly. most labs will report a reactive or nonreactive result for RPR testing. Ask the lab specifically for the titer. They will do it for you. Thanks.
Syphilis always has numbers associated with them. Can you make it to the office to see the actual results? Because anything 1.0 or over is reactive...there is a number associated with it.
did your partner get tested yet? if your partner tests + for syphilis, odds are it really is a true positive.

The nurse just called back and apparently she never "in a 100 years heard of a number for the test" only reactive or non reactive. I tried to explain it to her by she dismissed me :-(
Thanks - i just called my doc now, im waiting for a call back with the exact number!
Tell us what the result of the RPR test was. It should have a titer number like 1:2 etc. We can give you more information. Thanks.
They can go unnoticed but normally on your penis you would see it without a problem.
Thank you for your help. Im also assuming its probaly not syphilis bc ive never had any sores but apparently they can go un-noticed?
You are not wasting anyones time, but i want to try to get you help to your questions.
It is a possibility with syphilis but not highly likely. I have never heard someone with it who had syphilis.
I posted it a few different places because I know it is complicated. However a symptoms of syphilis could be EN which is why they tested for it. I guess by posting it here I was just wondering if anyone has experience EN from syphilis. Or maybe how accurate this PRP test really is or if false positives are common ??? At this point im just trying to get any information at all that could be helpful - I dont mean to be waisting anyones time by posting in the wrong forum.
Well this is the place to talk about syphilis but you are asking about other disesaes that could cause Erythema Nodosm. Try dermatology since EN is a skin issue.
Where else do you suggest I post about a positive test result for syphillis???
This is a STD forum, we would have no knowledge about the question you are asking.
