Is a different test used to see if treated syphillis is cured?

I had syphillis many years ago. I had treatment done. My doctor wants to do the same standard test to detect a person has syphillis. My question is that since im goin to test positive for life isnt a more indepth test needing to be done? Like i believe its called a titre tesr to see that my level of antibodies has decreased?

Not all tests look for antibodies. As you said, it wouldn't be accurate, as it would be always positive. But as far as I know, once syphilis is treated, specially if we wait for such a long time, any test should be negative.
