Sore throat in partner months later?

About 3 months ago I deeply french kissed a woman and possibly briefly touched my mouth to her vaginal area which was covered by underwear.  It was so brief I can't remember if that contact oral/vaginal contact happened or not.  Anyway, for about 10 days afterward I had a severe sore throat that went away.  Now I'm in a relationship and about 2 months after this my female partner developed a severe sore throat that has lasted 2 weeks.  Discharge of tonsils and flu-like symptoms are present.  Could any of this be due to an STD?
