syphilis testing

hey there:

so i went to the local clinic yesterday since they had rapid syphilis testing, but they would not give it to me since they thought i was low/no risk.   so they gave me a blood test.

issue is, i had already paid for and was planning to do a blood test later that day, yesterday, but thought, why not do them both.

i got the results of my RPR already, which was negative, non-reactive.

the clinic did the same test.  the woman who saw me told me i would get results in 2-3 days.  but i called them and the operator said 4-7 business days.

now i’m worried that somehow the 2nd test will be positive?

is this irrational?  can i consider my first test result conclusive and not stress waiting for the second?

ugh!

please tell me i’m worried for nothing?  the idea of waiting another week is unreal.

Yes, it's irrational.

Your first test was negative. Why would you think your other test would be different?

The clinic told you that you were low/no risk. Go with that. If they said that, it's true.
