Possible STD from oral (throat symptoms)

Since around the very beginning of July this year, I've had some chronic symptoms such as sore throat, trouble swallowing, and enlarged tonsils. Sometimes they wouldn't seem very serious but some days the sore throat is more painful than usual, but it still isn't excruciatingly painful. The trouble swallowing always seems to be there but not to the point where I have trouble eating. In the mornings, I always have yellow mucus in the throat. I'm just worried about a possible STD because about a week or two I had oral sex with my boyfriend and I swallowed (which was stupid of me but too late to yell at me for it). Does this sound like a possible case of an STD?

this isn't std related.

at this point you should see your regular provider for a basic work up and go from there.  this could be any number of things from allergies, sinus infection, chronic tonsilitis , GERD etc.

since std's are on your mind, certainly you and your partner should follow up with full std testing so that in the future you don't have to even think std's as a cause of any symptoms.

also as Vance already said, whether or not your swallow has nothing to do with std risk. std's are transmitted through the sex act itself and semen in the stomach is not an increased risk for std's.

Kheit,

Are you a smoker?  If you are, then this will explain your productive morning coughs.  Secondly, as Vance points out - You sypmtoms are not indicative of an STD.  The problem is that your symptoms are mutual to thousands of conditions or ailments.

Take the advice and test with your partner.

Also in the mornings when I need to spit out the mucus there is also a bit of blood...
I still need to speak to him about it and I'm going to ask him to get tested, too..

Spit or swallow it doesn't matter. No your symptoms do not sound like a STD. Have you spoken to your bf about STD's? Have you and him tested? If not both should to make sure.
