Help rash???

you guys rock! had a scare a couple weeks ago but the docs on here bluntly told me to chill out i cant have hiv. ok fine, but i have red occasionally burning skin under the head of my penis, my testicle skin burns and itches sometimes and i have a light pink rash between my inner thigh and groin. any idea of what this could be? i tested positive a few years ago on hsv-1 could it be that or like jock itch or something? i work a labor intensive job and always sweat there. any ideas or advice are greatly appreciated!

HIV questions belong in the HIV prevention forum.

You had protected sex - I'm not sure what you are worrying about.  If you can't let it go, then its time so seek some help.

Also, PLEASE keep all your posts to ONE thread.  Read the two first threads on the topic listing.

i had protected sex 16 days before i got blood tests, my mind has run with it, i have lost weight no appetite the whole list so i went at 16 days for multiple blood tests, hiv came out negetive, probly to early anyway did a cbc and my white cells came out elevated so my doctor feels it is an infection of some sort. hence the prescription of doxi, i guess my question also is hiv if it cant be detected at 16 days i did some research acute hiv seems to lower white cells not raise them right? so i probly dont have hiv? the other thing was my personal dr the docs on here and other folks on here said i had no exposure and i should chill, but its hard you know?? i think my mind is messing up, but tell me what you think?

doxy will only help you if you have a bacterial infection of some sort.  Did the doctor tell you what his diagnosis was that made him prescribe doxy?  It is summer and you work in a labor intensive job definitely possible jock itch.  I would not use baby powder contrary to what the guy above said.  I think you do however need to make an effort to dry the area particularly after showering blow dry the area and try to keep it dry.  Ther eare creams prescribed by dermatologists for jock itch.  Jock itch can be tamed but it does come back from tiem to time nothing you can do about that.  Good luck and do not waste your time or money on over the counter remedies they do not work go to a dermatologist and get the right stuff and truly they will know in two seconds flat what they are looking at instead of trying to figure it out here.  Good luck.

This really does sound like a heat rash. Topical treatments are best, avoid perfumes and applying alcohol to the rash. Over the counter lotrimine cream may help. Doxicycline probably won`t help much. Take care.

It sounds like a normal rask from skin irritation. Since you work in a labor intensive job that is what it could be. You might want to go to a dermitologist just to get it looked at.

My advice also is to use baby power on the inner thighs and groin. It helps with sweat and keeps from parts of the body rubbing against each other. I use it every time I have a game (Lacrosse).
