Herpes? really worried

this morning in the shower i noticed a bump on my labia, it was reddish and tender, and it hurts to touch it or when it rubs against something.  I had sex (using a condom) with a guy a few days ago, but we also rubbed genitals unprotected several weeks ago.  How likely is it that this is herpes?  I'm VERY worried, please help if you can!

I can't give you a difinitive answer.  I suggest you have somebody look at it sooner rather than later.  If not, you can do one of two things.  A)  Wait to see if it returns & then have it cultured or B)  have a type specific blood test done 3 months after the last time you thought you could have been exposed to herpes.

Are you experiencing any other symptoms other than the painful bump?  Is the bump sitting on the skin as opposed to in it?

Condoms do not protect 100% against genital herpes transmission.

Your symptoms are brand new - try to be seen within the next 24-48 hours so that you have a better chance of getting an accurate pcr swab of the lesions for proper diagnosis.  Also the sooner you start treating a herpes ob - the better relief you'll get from the antivirals so don't put it off.

Not saying that this just HAS to be herpes - just saying you had a new partner recently and are now showing signs of something going on down yonder - go be seen and take care of it.
