How did I contract Mycoplasma Genitalium in a monogamous relationship ?

I have been in a monongamous relationship for over a year. About one month ago I had typical symptoms for MG (itching and discharge). My girlfriend also had some irregular bleeding and abdominal pain (she thought it was start of menopause). One week ago we tested positive for MG. I have been 100% faithfull and she swears that she had slept with no one else during our relationship. So how can this be explained?

Did you ever get this cleared up?
Yep, first course of antibiotics didn’t work (Zithromax I think) so had two courses of something much stronger. It was horrible and felt sick with them , but they did the job. Can’t remember tbd name now. But it was cleared up finally.

Hi, since it often doesnot show symptoms either you or our partner could have had it for quite some time and only now showing symptoms.

Thanks, would be unusual to both show symptoms at the same time though? However it is possible her symptoms are unrelated.
Its possible her symptoms are not related and showing symptoms is a diffcult issue as peoples immune systems are not the same
