I messed up

What does the penicillin shot treat?
What does doxycycline monohydrate treat?

Why are both given?

I had a scare that I was tested for. The test and treatment (penicillin shot) were done yesterday. I was given the antibiotics and told to start the 7-day treatment as well. Last night I received unprotected oral from a female that could be infected, directly after my penicillin shot (about 2 hours later). I still have not started my antibiotics.

If she was infected and if it was given to me (if I’m not positive for the test I had yesterday already) , will the penicillin be ineffective or will it still work against anything I contract immediately after the shot? Will my antibiotics help anything if I begin the cycle the day after I was infected (meaning starting them today)?

I know how ignorant I am, so go easy on me please. No positive test for either person, just some symptoms.

I agree with SM - I'd love more info. :)

Penicillin shots treat syphilis, and doxy can treat a variety of things.

You had an encounter the night before you tested and got symptoms? What were your partner's symptoms?

Ok, this a bit all over the place so lets start from the beginning.

What was your FIRST exposure which made you get tested and treated? What did they test for?

You say you had symptoms, what were they?
