Inability to attain an erection after treatment of Chlamydia and other stds.

Hi! Recently I am currently in Cameroon and I was diagnosed of Syphilis, and Chlamydia a month ago. The details of the lab results were as follows : FBS=94mgldl, NR(70_110mgldl, TPH=positive, VDRL=Reactive, Chlamydia=positive(1/64) NR(<1/16). Actually, the reason why I went in for this lab tests was because I WAS SUFFERING FROM SEVERE SEXUAL WEAKNESS(which I am still suffering from). When I took these results to my Doctor, he prescribed the following medication to me : Extencilline 2.4 million.. (4 and 1 per week IM)  QUINOLOX (tablo ofloxacin) 200mg tablets 4boxes (1tab *2 for 3 weeks) . It was recommended for my partner and I. We were advised not to get involved in unprotected sex while undergoing treatment which we respected. When I started the treatment, I discovered that I was regaining my erection but after a while it stopped before I took the last injection of Extencilline. Until now, I haven't been able to experience an erection and it's really frustrating. Out of frustration, I decided to take Azithronax 500 mg (3 tabs for days)  and it still didn't work. What can I do to regain my erection? Is this in- ability to attain an erection as a result of these deceased still in me or what? What can I do to get back to normalcy? (a point that may help, I started experiencing this SEXUAL weakness about a year ago until it came to a point where I could no longer attain an erection). I am impatiently waiting for a favourable reply. Thank you.

The lack of daytime erections is often due to severe levels of anxiety, and sometimes we're not even aware of just how anxious we are.

The point of testing overnight is to see if everything's o.k. physically.  I'd be a bit worried if you failed the postage stamp test more than two nights of otherwise normal sleep in a row, as that would suggest a physical cause (possibly innocuous, such as your body recovering from something, but possibly serious).  I see the test as a very first step.

Thank you very much for your reply. If I got you well, you asking to be patient for a while to see if positive changes (erections) will occur? And if they do not occur what do I do next? As for nocturnal elections, I don't get them. Remember, when I started the first treatment I regained my erections for a while. Are there any other treatments which I can try? Thank you.

I suggest a starting point might be the postage stamp test (to see if you're getting nightly nocturnal erections while sleeping for say, a week or two).

Extreme stress, anxiety could certainly impact your capability for erections (so, if the infection's worrisome then perhaps after your treatment's completed, you will settle back down and your problem will become a non-issue).

Was this doctor prescribed and taken for the recommended duration?
