Is This Herpes?

About a year ago I got a "pimple" above my lips but below my beard line.  At the time I thought nothing of it, popped it and moved on.  However, a small scar and some redness never went away.  Every couple of months (I don't know how many; it varries ~3-5) a "pimple" will come back in the same spot.
Is this Herpes?

I appreciate any help you can give me.

This could be from shaving - ingrown hairs or mild infection. It also could be a cold sore. Contrary to what jedispider said - cold sores don't typically spread to other areas and it actually would be unusual for recurrences of cold sores to be inside the mouth and not on the lip area.   It's quite common for a cold sore to keep showing up in the same general location.

You can get yourself a type specific herpes igg blood test to see if you even have hsv1. If you do and you really want to know definitely if this "pimple" is herpes - next time you have one - go get it cultured within 24-48 hours of the appearance of it.

Could it be a cold sore?  That it keeps happening is what makes me wonder if it might not just be a pimple.
Any thoughts?
