Is it really in her blood for life?

This is a constant and ongoing thing. My daughter gets MRSA, as well as her husband and my 2 year old grandson has gotten it once, so basically, everyone in that household. Granddaughter has it the most. At this time, she is suffering from 4 places where the MRSA staph is residing. I frequently take the kids to let my daughter sanitize their house. The grandkids come here, and we never get it. They get their bleach baths here, too, and use our toilets. Their mother gives them the bleach baths regularly and keeps Staphaseptic on hand at all times, but granddaughter, age 4, continues to get this most horrible disease, and is always having to have the boils lanced and drained. She now gets these boils where there is no open wound. The nurse at the pediatrician's office told her mother that it is in her blood and that basically, there is no hope. They refuse to refer her to a specialist, though, and are not doing blood tests, so how do they know it is permanently in her blood? It will be with her for the rest of her life, according to them.. My daughter called me up crying, saying that this woman has basically signed granddaughter's death warrant, because it can kill her. Is there nothing that can be done? They always have to take antibiotics. I am worried, but being strong for my daughter's sake. I told her I would try to find an answer here on Medhelp. My granddaughter is so precious to me. They all are. Isn't there some way to stop it by detoxing the blood or transfusion or something?

Hi

First I want to say for any one else reading out there: that MRSA is not an STD pre say, but like Hep B, C and syphilis it can be transmitted by exposure to blood/open lesion.  MRSA is usally caught in the hospital, and then at the gym.   The more serious MRSA infections,  ARE becoming increasingly difficult to treat; however some antibiotics will work.   MRSA is a perfect example of what could happen if people incorrectly self presecribe or not take their entire medication; the pathogen will become resistant to our medication for it.

See an infectious disease specialist to treat your grandaughter.  Also practicse good hygiene and take pre cautions around the house to prevent further outbreaks or of infecting others.

Reliable information is always found on the CDC website:
