Over 4 months ago I have been treated for a uretha infection caused by chlamydia and mycoplasma genitalum. I was treated with an IV of Ceftriaxon 2g, and Azithromycin pills 500mg 3-0-0 the same day. One week later there was not discharge anymore, and less pain, but still noticed discomfort. I was then given Doxycyclin 100mg 1-0-1 with a total of 20 pills. During this Doxycyclin treatment I did wash my glans with soap every time after peeing. This had made my glas sensitive. Some small red bumps appeared, and they disappeared automatically. No pain, no discharge or liquids. My doctor then had a look at it and told me to just wash it only once a day with water and it would heal. Right after the doxycycline treatment I got tested again, no positives.
I stopped worrying about it and took the advice. 3 months later I decided to visit my GP, because it only had gotten worse. After the doxycylin treatment the meatus and glans area around it were swollen and red. Furthermore the skin there was very dry/wrinkly. My GP first concluded it was a yeast infection and I should just apply some vaseline daily and my body would clear it up. Absolutely no result after 4 weeks. The GP then concluded it is a mild form of lichen sclerosus and I should learn to live with it. I was not sent to any specialists, neither were any tests done.
I then got advice from an online dermatologist, and took 1 pill of Fluconazol and washed my penis daily once in a mixture of water and baking soda. No result. Recently I went to another GP, who said the chance is great it is a yeast infection and has given me myconazolnitrate/hydrocortisone cream. I am 11 days in and so far this cream has not caused any improvements.
The symptoms worsen through friction (masturbation, sex, but also walking), and when taking showers, especially with warm water. It might be worth mentioning that the girl I got the STDs from was of Asian origin. She was in her early 20's, no prostitute, no virgin, not much details known about her sexual past. I have warned her to get tested, but she does not seem to take this serious enough.
I've read through this forum, over the years there have been many men with very similar problems and causes (STD by Asian woman resulting in red and swollen meatus / glans), which lasted very long. I did not stumble upon any solution. Hopefully I, and many others, will gain valuable information through this post.
Thanks in advance for contributing!
