Just got my test results back and i'm positif for Chlamydia..

Hi, i'm nearly 22 and just got my test results back and it says positif, but i had no idea i had it.. so it may have been untreated for over a year. I have a mirena implant and the test came back negative before the placement. I went to my gyn a few days ago (when she did the test just to be safe) and she said everything looked fine and that she couldn't see any problems. I told her i had pain sometimes but we both concluded that it was just ovulation period or normal period pain (as i don't have my periods with my implant).
I also looked up the signs and i haven't had any other than maybe the pain but it really just seems like period pain.. My partner doesn't have any signs either..

Can anybody help me? Will i be able to have my own family? Does having the implant make a lot of difference? Will i have to have it out? Could the implant sort of blocked the signs and it not have done any damage?

Please help!!!
Thank you.

Roughly 16 percent of untreated chlamydia infections will progress to PID. Once or if it gets to PID that's where the risk of infertality raises. You and your partner should both be treated for an infection so it just isn't passed. If you don't have protected sex the risk of him having chlamydia after 2-3 times is close to 90 percent.

Don't panic the chances of it professing to PID are fairly low. Just get treated and follow up
Making sure you cure the current infection in both you and your partner
