Kissing with Braces and Sores

I'm wearing braces for the next 2 years. Plus i like to kiss. close or open mouth. And since wearing braces it has been difficult for me to want to kiss another person because these braces are causing canker sores and leaving cuts and marks on my inner and side lips. I'm at the point where if i were to stretch my bottom lip, the cuts/marks from the braces appear to be open in a way like deep cuts. I'm using peroxide and oraljel to clean my mouth out but doesn't seem to heal as quickly.

I have a date tonight and its going to involve some open mouth kissing and most likely sex. the person said that they're clean but in case, do i need to worry or fear from contracting anything with my mouth the way it is right now? Will using peroxide or oraljel help me in anyway for tonight? Please answer.

we don't recommend routine use of peroxide. it's non-chlorine bleach and actually does more harm than good to skin.

will you contract anything std related from kissing? hsv1 is your only risk.
