Lingering sore thraot after oral sex

Hello

About 3 weeks ago, I had a brief oral sex (not more than a min or so) with a man, who told me he is clean nad healthy, and HIV neg. The next day, I started to ave a mild sore throat, and it persisted since then. I only feel it when I swallo my saliva, but not bothering me when I eat, and otherwise I am feeling OK.
I am puzzled now since it has been 3 weeks or so, and it never went away! If I get cold, it usually stays for few days and that is it.
I am HIV neg, and actually that exposure was my 1st ever, and I am afraid I learnd not to do this again in a hard away..I wish not!
I asked the experts in this forum, which I respect alot, and my HIV risk is nearly zero, so I am ot concerned about it, but did anyone ever experience this?
Is this something common following unprotected oral sex!

Please kindly advise

Thanks

Yes...NO is the word that is supposed to be there. Symptoms will NOT show the next day. Did caps just to make sure I wrote it and did not lead you down the wrong path.

To clarify..

Your first line should say No STD/HIV will cause...., or it is as is!

Otherwise, I think you are right regarding getting an advise here and not Diagnosis, and those with diagnosis may not come back here for follow up, thought I wish they do, without disclosing their personal health matters!

Still needs clarification and correction for the 1st line

Thanks

STD's and/or HIV will cause symptoms the next day. And just for a kicker most oral STD's are asymptomatic. There are reports that people who have oral gonorrhea have a sore throat, but a lot of time people say what they think someone wants to hear so that is not 100% reliable.

My guess is that it is a common infection and you are just associating a STD with it. I often see people post about this or that and symptoms the next day or a couple of days later and it turns out not being connected at all.

This place can only give advice and never give a diagnosis, and most people don't come back after they receive the diagnosis from a Dr (if they go) so that is why you will not see diagnosis here.

Thanks for prombt reply, I appreciate it.

To add to my story, I saw a tiny white spot in the back of my throat and it is still there since, so it is not really about me being anxious , though I feel guilty but the forum is not about this issue, and I tried to look in this forum forbsimilar problem, I found some complaints similar to mine, yet no clear or a definite diagnosis given even by experts. I think this is reassuring since it indicates something benign in nature , may be the normal germs on the genitalia cause this when present in the throat!

If I re-think of HIV as the worest case scenario, it is imposossible to cause any symptoms within a day, and persisit! but I am looking for disclosure and reasoning for this...again I am not anxious but concerned a bit, and my biggest reason is that I am married!

Sorry for a long reply, but I appreciate further in this issue

Thanks again

It is common for people who are worried about it. Since it began the next day it is not a STD. You can follow up with your Dr but I doubt it is anything more then a cold or anxiety.
