Molluscum Contagiosum and fungal infection

Hello I ve been having an interesting experience with multiple problems down there.
I was diagnosed and treated with molluscum contagiosum that I caught 4 months ago. I have to say that I went to 3 doctors to be finally properly diagnosed. With the molluscum I also developed some kind of rash at the base of my penis. Doctor said it was nothing and that it would go away by itself... The rash has been there for 3 months with no change. A friend of mine suggested jock itch treatment with over the counter drugs. Lotrimin ultra didnt do a thing...but surprisingly the powder spray of the same brand worked ok. I noticed that the active ingredient miconazole nitrate works really well with my case. I also noticed that vaginal yeast infections are being treated with the same ingredient...so I went to get a yeast infection drug with miconazole nitrate. I have to say...so far it works great and I am only in the second day. Rash is almost gone but the itching and stinging comes and goes...is that normal? Should I expect those symptoms to stay a little longer, or maybe the drug just provides temporary relief? Please help...

for some folks, reducing simple sugars is helpful when they have chronic fungal infections. jock itch is very common though and is from heat and sweat in the genital area.

Thanks Grace.
Also do you know whether specific foods help or worsen a fungal infection? Somebody told me not to consume much sugar as the fungus feeds on it. Is that true?

not unusual at all for fungal infections to linger until properly treated. use the antifungal for a full week after the rash is gone.

see your provider if it returns again.
