STD Antibody, Treatment and Transmission

How would and or does the medical establishment distinguish antibody responses from antibody registries after someone receives treatment for a viral STD if the illness were no longer in the body?

as I said, it depends on the std in question. we don't have the same ways of testing and determining past vs active infection for every single std.

Please respond to this question instead of the other reply.

The question is general; however, your response does not convey how a distinction is made between treated and acquired illnesses as antibodies are a component factor associated with both treated and acquired illnesses?  What is the medical distinction between these two antibody components and how are they medically distinguished?

you should've received an email that the post was moved as well as if you are on a computer, go to the upper right corner and click on myhelp to see all your posts. same as just clicking on your name will also take you to your profile.

depends on the test and the std as to how we know if it's newly acquired or not.

is there perhaps actual test results you have received or more details that explain why you are asking this question?  I can probably help you a lot more if you give me more info :)

I cannot track the other post.  Is there a link in the hiv forum directly to the question?

My question regards antibody responses to an active illness versus antibodies that are logged in the body for life once an illness has been treated and no longer in the body.  I would like to know, how does the medical establishment distinguish an illness prone antibody response from logged antibodies in the body if the illness is treated and no longer in the body?

I'm honestly not sure what you are asking.

I moved your other post to the hiv forum since it seemed to be more about hiv than the std's we cover here on this forum.
