Thanks for the info...I really appreaciate it! If anyone else has some info I would welcome the feedback.
Trich, doesn't usually cause symptoms in men, but even if you had it, the dosage would've taken care of it. The main reason why it is recommended that people not drink while on Metronidazole is because it causes the effect of making someone very sick. Drinking 17 hours before the time you were told you could drink probably is not going to make any difference on the affectivity of the drug. However, if you remained concerned, simply call the doctor who prescribed it to you and ask him
The Dr said to refrain from drinking for 72 hrs due to the chance of becoming ill...I am just worried the alcohol could have reduced the effect.
The only way I believe I could have contracted the NGU was from unprotected sex with a one-night stand...hence the login ID...but since I thought the symptoms were returning, I thought maybe I had persistant NGU as a result of Trichomoniasis that is why I wanted to get treated with the Flagyl...I'm just not for sure if it is just in my mind or I really have some sort of other problem. With all of the other STD tests coming back negative...I don't know what it could be?
It is usually recommended that you not drink for 7 days after the start of a medication. HOwever, since you were given a single dose, it was probably ok for you to drink 48 hours after the medication. I wouldn't worry too much about it.
Out of curiosity, how did you acquire NGU?
