NSU, Balantis and Masturbation?

Hey

Last wednesday I was treated with antibiotic (240mg of Azithromycin) to treat NSU.

The yellow/green discharge and painful urination cleared up within 2 or 3 days. Though, the one thing that the nurse(s) werent too sure about was the red crater/blister/sore things on the head of my penis.

She assured me it wasn't syphillis and other things because it isnt bumpy.

After taking the antibiotics it started to clear up a bit. Also, I'd been regularly applying Sudocream (antiseptic healing cream) and on a few occasions sore cream.

I'm quite confident its not herpes or syphillis. However, upon research I do think it might be a case of - Balantis. In the beginning they started as three or four pimples and the nurse said it was just a rash.. Though, upon further examination with two nurses, they think its possibly a bacterial infection? I am yet to get results back on the swabs they took.

After taking the medication I asked the woman about alcohol and caffiene and she said within "moderation". I've been drinking coffee but have not touched a drop of alcohol in a couple of weeks.

I also asked her about masturbation and she said that was okay but I need to not have sex for a week.

So on the Friday night I had a wank with a condom (just to be extra safe) and realised my semen was still a yellowish colour. And that the sores will a bit inflamed again.

And then four days later, Tuesday morning, woke up with a little bit of clear discharge and an erection. Do you think the clear discharge was just the result of a wet dream? And is not a sign of infection coming back?

Anyways, later that morning I masturbated for the second time to see if the colour of my semen was back to normal and it was still a little yellowish colour (though maybe thats the way it looks in a condom?).

Anyways, this morning I noticed the redness/rash/crater(s) had started to come back?
And that not only did they starting to form a big rash/crater but I noticed a new small one near the penis lips.

So what do you think??

- I did some research on Balantis, and some people said to avoid coffee, citrus fruits, spicy foods and alcohol as they are prostrate irritants?
Should I keep applying Sudocream?

- Also, is it best to stop masturbating for a long amount till it clears up? I read on a few websites people whose Balantis kept returning after sex and masturbation?

- Is the Azithromycin curing the Balantis?? Did masturbation with a condom trigger the newest outbreak?

- Also, if I took Azithromycin (250mg) last wednesday, is it still in my system working to fight off infection and balantis? Or is it starting to disappear?

antifungal creams don't work that fast actually. usually when a rash responds that quickly, it was just irritation and the base in the antifungal cream is what helped.

keep applying it because it certainly doesn't hurt to do so and follow up as new symptoms occur.

I applied the antifungal cream last night (Clotrimazone) and it looks as if its almost cleared up. I reapplied it twice throughout the night and I made sure my penis got enough air to breath as well.

Well I've been tested twice. First time results were negative, and second time I'm awaiting results this week. If I dont hear anything this week then they're negative and I'm cleared. I thought if I didnt hear anything I'd ring up the following monday to see if I'm suppose to do anyuthing further.

Well I definetly had NSU but that seems cleared up now thanks to antibiotics, and thought I'm not sure if the skin thing was Balantis, I could imagine its definetly fungal if Clotrimazole made such an effect.

Cheers, thanks alot guys.

also I'd repeat your chlamydia testing since you weren't properly treated for it and it's a common cause of ngu.

you need to wait at least 6 weeks post encounter for syphilis testing and 3 months for herpes and hiv blood testing.  totally up to you if you feel it's worthwhile pursuing the extra testing. gum clinics do not offer type specific herpes igg blood testing so you'll need to get that done elsewhere.

no real harm in trying the antifungal cream.   you will probably have to try it several times a day for a few days before you see any difference if this is fungal.

Last time I had sex was almost a month ago. And no, no regular partner.

And I thought I would try out Canesten cream (Clotrimazole). I haven't really tried out any anti-fungal creams yet so I think its worth a shot. Surely it should do something positive.

If no process by the morning I will stop doing any cream and call up Sexual Health clinic first thing on monday.

I'll keep you guys and girls posted. Thanks very much, Jessy and Grace and Kdaily.

antiseptic creams can be very irritating to our sensitive genital skin. I recommend at this point putting nothing on it other than barrier creams like zinc oxide or aquaphor if you want to soothe and protect the already overly irritated skin.

never put bandaids on your genital area!!!!  ( sending 3 months worth of bbc dvd's to jessy so he can pick up on the lingo....he he he )

this could be many things going on. at this point even a fungal infection can be an issue too.  the providers who have actually seen your symptoms do not feel that they are std related.   when was the last time you had sex prior to all this starting? do you have a regular partner?

the dose of azithromycin you should've been given was 1gm, not 250 mg.

Well I put some antiseptic cream on it last night and I woke up and it was red/pink inflamed looking. So I certainly don't think cream is a good idea.

A plaster is an English bandaid.

Okay cheers thanks alot guys. I'll tell you how it goes. Its day nine since I first took antibiotics.

Though, because it hadn't checked your post today JessyJames the night before I had a bit of a drink, and I certainly had a few expressos as I thought it would be okay to drink after eight days of Azithromycin.

But I'm certainly going to get on that antioxydant diet ASAP.

Most recently, there's been a mucus on it, my friend says thats a good sign and that its fighting off the infectioon. What do you think?
Also I considered putting a plaster on it for a bit.. Good idea or bad?

Hi,

My answers are in capital letters, for clairty.

"../ Did some research on Balantis, and some people said to avoid coffee, citrus fruits, spicy foods and alcohol as they are prostrate irritants? "
THIS IS TRUE, STAY AWAY FROM THESE FOODS FOR A BIT, DRINK
             CRANBARRY JUCIE.

"Should I keep applying Sudocream?"
STOP APPLYING IT AND ASK A DOCTOR WHAT'S BEST FOR THE IRRIATION.

"Also, is it best to stop masturbating for a long amount till it clears up?"
YOUR PENIS IS IRRIATED SO BEST TO WAIT A BIT AS  MASTERBRATION CAN
            CAUSE MORE IRRITATION.

"Is the Azithromycin curing the Balantis?? "
            33% CHANCE THAT IT WILL.

Did masturbation with a condom trigger the newest outbreak?
I DONT' KNOW --I DONT' KNOW IF ANYONE KNOWS THAT.

"Also, if I took Azithromycin (250mg) last wednesday, is it still in my system working to fight off infection and balantis? Or is it starting to disappear?
ANTIBIOTICS STAY IN YOUR SYSTEM FOR ABOUT 3 WEEKS.  SO ITS IS STILL
FIGHTING THE INFECTION.  ALSO THE CLEAR DISCHARGE YOU MENTIONED IN
YOUR FIRST POST IS A GOOD SIGN OF CLEARANCE AND QUARANTINE.

ooo gottach good to hear!! well we can't tell you exactly what it is you do need to see a dermatologist for that, it could very well be bacterial.

Masturbating may be causing irritation to it so until it clears up or you get a proper diagnosis you may want to hold off on causing any further irritation to it.

Again we do not give suggestions for medications you need to be diagnosed and prescribed as per a doctor

Yes you should see the dermatology forum or if there is a skin rash forum you may want to post there as you've been cleared of any STDs.

And yeah I've been tested for all STDS, twice. With two different doctors.

I'm curious is this question better suited to a Balantis/Skin rash forum? I think its still NSU related?

I've been tested twice.

The first time was swab, blood, urine. And they came out negative.

The second time was just swab and urine. What I had was then diagnosed as NSU. Though, from that wednesday onwards I'm expecting further results.

They took swabs of the sore/redness and they said it might be bacterial.

I was just wondering about...

Should I keep applying Sudocream?

question, have you been tested for any or all STDs?

First off a once over glace is not a proper diagnosis for any STD, you should have had a blood test for both Syphilis and HSV even if she said it didn't appear to be you can't possibly know for sure without testing.

Two you said you were treated but did you get a diagnosis for the discharge. The discharge could be gono, chlamydia, NGU, Trich you should have been tested for these and you don't say that you were.

Third you said they did a swab, a swab for bacterial? of the sore? if so what did the results come back saying, was it bacterial?

We do not give suggestions for medications, and you don't even have a diagnosis saying that it is balantis. you need to see a dermatologist for a proper diagnosis.
And to be honest from what you've indicated thus far it doesnt sound like you current doctor did a great job in covering all basis before treatment. if you've had unprotected sex you NEED to be tested
